Hi! I'm a Dominican writer and educator based in Santo Domingo.

 

Through my writing, I explore elements of cultural identity and experiences that are often overlooked. Inspired by my heritage, I write about situations that reflect the realities of the Dominican experience, all seen through my unique lens.

As a high school language arts teacher and coach, I encourage my students to use reading and writing as tools to discover who they are and explore their role in the world. Writing and teaching have helped me reconnect with a part of myself that had been missing for a long time.

In addition to writing and education, I am passionate about Scribas, a project focused on “escribir para sobrevivir” — using writing as a tool for personal growth. This initiative, which is in Spanish, aims to help those who don’t typically write to use writing as a means of healing and self-expression.
